Making Regenerative Wine

Is there such a thing as a regenerative wine? What goes into making one? How does the regenerative mindset affect the taste of wine? These are just a few of the questions we will be exploring this week!

Members of our online community, Global Food & Farm will be able to learn about the process of making regenerative, biodynamic wine this week when we host a discussion on Wednesday, Aug. 24th at 2pm eastern (USA) with South African wine-maker, Johnathan Grieve, owner of Avondale Wine.

About Avondale Wine:
Our ethos, Terra Est Vita meaning ‘Soil is Life’ encapsulates our view of Avondale Estate as a dynamic living system where soil, water and energy; plants, animals and people;even our buildings, are part of a complex web of relationships and networks, interconnected and interdependent.
Premium Quality Wines– Our commitment to promoting life does not only lead to Mother Nature’s approval of our healthy, balanced vineyard ecosystem; it also ensures the premium quality of Avondale’s unique, naturally-made, slow wines.

Johnathan will share how he has transitioned depleted farmland using regenerative and biodynamic methods and mindsets. He will also discuss the natural fermentation or slow wine process he uses. Another topic: how the mindset of regenerative and biodynamic flow into every aspect of building and managing his growing wine brand.

Right now inside our online community, members can watch the background interview with Johnathan in our RegenFlix digital streaming library, where he shares about his early experiences and what led him to where he is today.

Be sure to check out the Avondale website as well as Johnathan's blog.
